So, what is Pasture Rainfall Insurance? Pasture rainfall insurance or as it is known, PRF, is an insurance product that protects your pastures and hay land from not getting enough rainfall. When your land doesn't get the necessary rainfall, your agricultural business can suffer. We make sure you have the necessary funds to either buy hay for your livestock or to make up for the lost revenue for not being able to bail your hay land.
I have already explained why you need it, now I am going to tell you how it works. There are weather stations all over the country that track how much rainfall your individual fields receive. If you don't receive 90% of the necessary rainfall in selected times of the year a check will be automatically sent to you for the loss. The times of the year are selected by us with historical data going back 20 years to be able to make informed decisions on when you are not getting the rain necessary. This is where our expertise sets us apart from the others. We are able to accurately interpret historical data to protect your business from financial loss.
The sales season for PRF is September-December. We will be on the road meeting with you to get you signed up for Pasture Rainfall Insurance at that time. If you have any questions before then, please reach out and we can talk to you about how to protect your farm or ranch from financial loss.
